Our Story
Aspire was born during lockdown, at a time when the world felt uncertain and fitness looked very different. What started with one van and a big idea quickly became a mission to keep women fit, healthy, and supported, travelling from Denbigh to the Wirral when gyms were forced to close.
In the early days, Aspire adapted to whatever was needed. From 1-to-1 Zoom sessions and bootcamps in open fields, to fitness sessions for NHS staff and PE lessons on Zoom for children, no opportunity to support the community was missed. For 12 months, Aspire operated on the road, building strong connections and a loyal following during some of the most challenging times.
When restrictions finally lifted, Aspire opened its first physical space. Two years later, the business grew again, expanding upstairs and creating even more opportunities for women to train in a safe, welcoming environment. Like any business, the journey has had its highs and lows, but nothing has ever been handed to us. Aspire has been built through determination, resilience, and a refusal to give up.
The journey hasn’t been without challenges. Following Kat’s diagnosis with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), the business faced a significant setback. However, Aspire continued to move forward. Through it all, the gym remained open, nine jobs have been created, and Kat has supported many individuals in achieving their fitness qualifications and personal goals.
Aspire recognized a clear gap in the industry for a female-only gym a space where women can feel confident, supported, and empowered at every stage of their fitness journey. Against all odds, in 2026 Aspire is proud to be approaching six years of growth, strength, and community.
We continue to grow from strength to strength, and this is only the beginning.
Our story doesn’t end here keep your eyes peeled, because something exciting is coming soon.
